Teen Idols

Yesterday morning the boys were getting ready for church, and as I finished up Gabe's hair (he has JUST the kind of hair I always wanted) I told him he looked like a rock star.
"Hey, Mom, " Zach said as he came over for his turn, "can you make me look like Beethoven?"

A Drive in the Old Country

Mom and the Uncles took the boys on a tour of the Epsom one-room schoolhouses yesterday. I notice Zach has picked up Katy's habit of making the peace sign for pictures!

Untitled (that's how creative I feel)

Yesterday was productive - I signed up at weight watchers; on the way to Mom's seemed like the best time to do it, so I brought the kids with me. Once back in the car, I tried to recover from the MAMMOTH amount of weight I need to lose (being proactive and actually joining at least helped me cope mentally) and Gabe decided to regale me with what he supposed was the history of weight watchers, which boiled down to the nuts and bolts of it was that the name of the program used to be "Hey, don't eat so much" but eventually was changed to weight watchers to make people feel better. My nine year old obviously has a handle on political correctness.  Zach, on the other hand, not so much. He thought it used to be called "Fat Busters." (I think busters is not a verb in his version, but a noun.) I was cracking up by the time we got to Mom's.
Rilla slept completely through four magical nights this week, only to destroy my illusions of energy and emotional stability by spend three hours awake last night. "Crying it out" doesn't seem to mesh with her headstrong personality. Ah, well, molar number four is poking through and maybe once it is fully here she will tease me again by sleeping through the night.
