HIStory

Because my husbands family is in the south and John is the youngest of five, the only one of which that moved away, we do not have very many photos of him. These are some I downloaded from Billy's (the middle brother) facebook. This picture is of John and his biggest brother David, the oldest of the five Godsey children. David is one of John's heroes; he is 12 years older than John.

The gentleman in the center is John's Mom's (Peggie) Dad. His last name was Shaw and he was Native American, which is where John gets his Native American heritage.

The boy covering his ears is John's Dad, Billy Ray Godsey.

Billy Ray Godsey again, third from the left in the front row. He was in the Army Air Corps, and fought in Korea and Viet Nam, this picture was taken during the Korean War.

John in front here with his brother Billy on the Left and a friend in the back. This was taken when they lived in New Mexico.

These are John's Grandparents on his Dad's side, the Godseys.  They were sharecroppers in Texas. I am thinking this may be part of the reasons I have such tall sons?

John, Billy, their sister Lisa, and their Dad. John's dad passed away when John was nine years old; this is the most recent photo I have seen of them together.

John and Billy.  John also has a sister named Patty. So it's David, Patty, Lisa, Billy and then John. Just wanted to share a bit of history about my husband and our children's heritage.
